Blocked Narayangadh-Butwal road reopens for two-way traffic



NAWALPARASI: The Narayangadh-Butwal road section, which had been blocked by a dry landslide, has reopened for two-way traffic.

The blockage occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the Daunne area of Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2, Nawalparasi (east of Bardaghat Susta). The landslide had caused a complete halt in traffic, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded.

According to Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal of the District Police Office, efforts were made overnight to clear the debris and restore vehicular movement. The road was reopened for two-way operation earlier this morning.

Currently, road expansion work is underway in the Daunne section, and traffic is being halted nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. to facilitate the construction.
