Nepal and Myanmar draw ahead of Championship Final

KATHMANDU: Nepal and Myanmar played to a 2-2 draw in the ongoing International Women’s Championship on Sunday.

Both teams had already secured their spots in the final, making this match the last group-stage encounter and a rehearsal before the title clash.

Myanmar took an early lead in the 6th minute when Myat Noe Khine scored directly from a free kick, with Nepali goalkeeper Anjila Rana Magar unable to stop the shot.

However, Nepal responded quickly, equalizing in the 11th minute through Sabita Rana Magar, who capitalized on a precise pass from Sabitra Bhandari.

Myanmar regained the lead in the 16th minute, but Nepal once again made a comeback in the 41st minute, with Sabitra Bhandari Samba scoring a powerful shot from outside the box.

For Myanmar, both goals were scored by May Htet Lwin, while Sabita Rana Magar and Sabitra Bhandari netted for Nepal.

Despite trailing twice, Nepal managed to level the game, setting up an exciting rematch in the final.
