APF advances to quarterfinals in KP Oli Cup football tournament



KATHMANDU: The departmental team APF Club has secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the KP Oli Cup football tournament.

In Sunday’s match at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, APF defeated Uzbekistan’s Black Bulls FC 4-3 in a tiebreaker after a goalless draw in regulation time.

APF will now face A Division League club Sankata in the quarterfinals for a chance to reach the semifinals. Sankata had received a bye in the first round.

The tournament, which began on Sunday, features nine teams, including two international teams.

According to the organizers, the National Youth Association, the champion will receive Rs. 1.511 million, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 500,000.
