Rabi Lamichhane appears in Rupandehi District Court for bail hearing

RUPANDEHI: Rabi Lamichhane, chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, appeared at the Rupandehi District Court on Thursday in connection with the Supreme Cooperative fraud case in Butwal.

Lamichhane was released into the custody of his family and lawyer after providing his statement on Wednesday. The court did not hear bail arguments on the same day.

According to Registrar of Rupandehi District Court Yagyamurthy Gyawali, the bail arguments are set to begin today in the bench of District Judge Pralhad Kumar Yogi.

The court will issue an order after hearing arguments from both the defense and the opposition.

A supplementary indictment against 22 individuals, including Lamichhane, was filed on January 19, charging them with fraud and organized crime. In total, 42 individuals are implicated in the Supreme Cooperative case, with 14 named in the supplementary indictment.
