Snowfall in high hills, fog in the Terai



KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported the partial influence of a westerly low-pressure system across the country.

Currently, there is partial cloud cover in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the weather in other areas remains mostly clear.

Dense fog and mist have been observed in many parts of the Terai region.

This afternoon, partial to moderate cloud cover is expected in the hilly regions of Karnali, Sudurpaschim, Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with clear weather in other parts.

Light rainfall is possible in a few areas of the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim.

Additionally, light snowfall is likely in some parts of the high hills and mountainous regions of Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, partial to moderate cloud cover will persist in the hilly regions of Karnali, Sudurpaschim, Koshi, and Gandaki provinces, with mainly clear skies in other areas.

Light rainfall may occur in a few areas of the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Light snowfall is also expected in some areas of the high hills and mountainous regions of Karnali, Sudurpaschim, Koshi, and Gandaki provinces.

The division has urged caution, as dense fog and mist in the mornings across many parts of the Terai and valleys could impact daily life, agriculture, health, transportation, and air travel.
