NEPSE falls 13.88 points, turnover declines



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 13.88 points on Monday, closing at 2,581.21 points.

The market remained in the red throughout the trading session, while total turnover also dropped. Daily transaction volume fell to Rs 3.51 billion, down from Rs 4.52 billion recorded in the previous session.

Out of the listed companies, share prices of 54 companies increased, while 200 declined and five remained unchanged.

Except for the trading group, all sectoral indices ended lower. The trading index fell by 0.57 percent.

Among other sectors, life insurance declined by 1.01 percent, while the hotel and tourism group dropped by 1.26 percent. Banking slipped by 0.35 percent, development banks by 0.37 percent, finance by 0.15 percent, hydropower by 0.66 percent, investment by 0.97 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.32 percent, microfinance by 0.45 percent, non-life insurance by 0.45 percent, and the ‘others’ group by 0.69 percent.
