Police detain Gen-Z activists, including Nicholas Bhusal, during Maitighar protest

KATHMANDU: Police detained several Gen-Z activists, including Nicholas Bhusal, during a protest at Maitighar on Monday organized against the interim government led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

The demonstrators, led by Miraj Dhungana, had gathered to demand the resignation of the Prime Minister, accusing the government of failing to address the previous demands of the Gen-Z movement. Police said the protest was conducted without official permission.

Authorities intervened to disperse the protesters, taking several participants into custody and restoring order in the area. A few individuals reportedly sustained minor injuries during the dispersal.

The protest caused traffic disruptions in Maitighar, Thapathali, Babarmahal, and surrounding areas, prompting a heavy security presence. Police emphasized that any unauthorized gathering violating administrative orders would be acted upon firmly.
