PM Sushila Karki to consult parties, civil representatives on House election preparations



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki is set to hold consultations on Monday with political parties and representatives of civil society regarding preparations for the election of the House of Representatives.

According to the Prime Minister’s private secretariat, the meeting will take place at the Ministry of Home Affairs at 1 pm.

The discussion will focus on the overall preparedness for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The Election Commission is also scheduled to make a presentation during the meeting, outlining the status of election preparations and related logistical arrangements.

The consultation comes as the government intensifies efforts to conduct the House of Representatives election within the announced timeline, amid ongoing political debate over parliament restoration and electoral legitimacy.

Officials said the meeting aims to build a broader political and civic consensus on the election process and address concerns raised by various stakeholders.
