Pedestrian killed after being hit by bus in Chitwan



KATHMANDU: A pedestrian died after being hit by a bus in Chitwan this morning. The incident occurred at Gardi, Madi Municipality–1, when a bus (Ba Pra 03–001 Kha 2887) struck the pedestrian.

According to police, Firal Mahato, approximately 62, a resident of Seruwa in Madi Municipality–1, died on the spot following the collision.

DSP Rabindra Khanal of the Chitwan District Police Office said the bus went out of control and fell into a field after hitting the pedestrian, injuring two passengers on board.

Both injured individuals are undergoing treatment at Baghauda Hospital, and their condition is reported to be out of danger. Police said the bus driver fled the scene, and a search is underway.
