NAWALPARASI: One person died and two others were seriously injured in a motorcycle accident at Danda Bazaar, Kawasoti Municipality–16, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) along the East–West Highway last night.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhu Nepal, three people sustained serious injuries when an unidentified vehicle struck a motorcycle (Na 43 Pra 3436) traveling from Danda to Kawasoti at around 10 pm.
The motorcycle driver, 42-year-old Hira Bahadur Pariyar of Gaidachowk, Kawasoti Municipality–16, died during treatment later that night. The two pillion riders—32-year-old Sunita Joharja of Kawasoti Municipality–3 and 24-year-old Mina Magar of Kawasoti Municipality–14—are undergoing treatment at Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital, Danda.
DSP Nepal said police have launched a search operation to identify and locate the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run incident.
