Prime Minister Karki pays tribute to national icon Shankhadhar Sakhwa



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Wednesday offered floral tributes to the statue of national luminary Shankhadhar Sakhwa, the founder of the Nepal Sambat calendar.

She paid homage at Sakhwa’s statue in Madhyapur Thimi earlier this morning. Before that, the Prime Minister had addressed a programme organised by the Nepal Sambat 1146 Nhuda Celebration Committee at Mangalbazar, Lalitpur.

Following the tribute, Prime Minister Karki attended a formal ceremony marking the Nepal Sambat celebrations.
