KMC launches ‘Walk and Act’ dengue drive today



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is launching a one-day mega campaign today to control the spread of dengue in Kathmandu.

Titled ‘Walk and Act’, the campaign will begin at 8:00 AM from the Rastriya Sabha, Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu.

As part of the initiative, teams will destroy mosquito breeding sites and use loudspeakers to spread awareness about dengue prevention, according to Deepak Kumar KC, Head of the Metropolitan City’s Health Department.

He said that following a departmental decision made on August 12, the campaign will be conducted simultaneously across all wards of the metropolis.

Previously, the Metropolitan City had been running similar campaigns every Friday.
