Seven books shortlisted for Madan Puraskar 2081



KATHMANDU: The Madan Puraskar Guthi has announced a shortlist of seven books for the prestigious Madan Puraskar 2081, Nepal’s most esteemed literary award. The announcement was made via a press release issued by the Guthi on Monday.

According to the statement by Guthi Chairperson Kunda Dixit, the shortlisted works span a variety of genres including fiction, poetry, travel writing, and non-fiction. One of the seven books will be awarded this year’s Madan Puraskar.

The shortlist was selected from a pool of 299 titles submitted for consideration.

The shortlisted books are:

  • Uramal by Chuden Kabimo
  • Chhalbato: Kailash Dekhi Ganga Samma by Ramesh Bhushal
  • Darjyu Sanlaap by Kumari Lama
  • Panchtattvako Paalam by Manprasad Subba
  • Bahurupi by Shreyas Subedi
  • Bhikshu, Byapar ra Bidroh by Sudheer Sharma
  • Hiuko Geet by Tirtha Gurung

The final winner of the Madan Puraskar 2081 will be announced in the coming months.

The award recognizes outstanding contributions to Nepali literature and comes with a cash prize and national recognition.
