31 employees of the Company Registrar’s Office transferred

KATHMANDU: The government has transferred 31 employees of the Company Registrar’s Office in a single move. The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies made the decision on Monday, following complaints that service delivery was delayed and files entered into the automated computer system were not being properly validated.

Ministry spokesperson Jitendra Basnet stated that the transferred personnel include branch officers, deputy sub-district officers, computer operators, and office assistants, who have now been reassigned to other agencies.

The move follows a report submitted by an Investigation and Action Recommendation Committee, which was formed under the leadership of a Joint Secretary, in line with a decision by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

According to Basnet, the decision was made after the Industry Minister ordered an on-site inspection of the Company Registrar’s Office, prompted by increasing complaints regarding the inefficiency of its online service system.

He added that the ministry’s goal is to make the office’s services simpler, more efficient, transparent, and effective. Following the ministerial directive, a three-member task force led by the ministry’s Joint Secretary conducted the inspection.

The office has now been instructed to implement regular monitoring by both the task force and the investigation committee. It has also been directed to improve the efficiency of its online services by introducing systemic reforms and procedural simplifications in line with the Companies Act and prevailing laws.
