Two arrested for foreign employment and visa fraud



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two individuals in separate cases of fraud involving foreign employment and fake travel arrangements.

In the first case, 32-year-old Ramesh Kumar Yadav, originally from Inaruwa Municipality, Sunsari, and currently residing in Pepsi-Cola, Kageshwari Manohara Municipality–16, was arrested for allegedly defrauding three individuals of Rs. 2.68 million.

He had promised to send them to South Korea for employment with the lure of attractive salaries, but later became untraceable.

Acting on complaints, a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, arrested Yadav from the Pepsi-Cola area. He has been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, for further investigation and legal proceedings.

In a separate incident, Srijesh Karki, a 21-year-old operator of Gilt Travels and Tours Pvt. Ltd., residing in Lainchaur, Kathmandu Metropolitan City–26, was arrested on fraud charges.

Karki is accused of creating fake documents and defrauding individuals of Rs. 430,000 by falsely promising to arrange air tickets, transit visas for Turkey, and hotel bookings for participants of the upcoming International Disability Conference 2025 in Germany.

He has been sent to the Kathmandu District Police Office for investigation and legal action under fraud-related offenses.
