Anjan Shakya denies reports linking her to Education Ministry appointment

KATHMANDU: National Assembly member Dr. Anjan Shakya has dismissed recent media reports suggesting she is being considered for the post of Minister of Education following the alleged resignation of current Minister Bidya Bhattarai.

Taking to social media, Dr. Shakya refuted the claims, calling the reports “misleading and imaginary.” She stated that she has no knowledge of or interest in the ministry in question, nor does she possess specific expertise in the education sector.

“I have received information that misleading and imaginary news has been published linking me to a ministry that I am not even aware of, interested in, or have expertise in,” she wrote, adding that such narratives appear to be politically motivated.

Dr. Shakya further suggested that biased elements may be attempting to exploit current issues in the education sector by dragging her name into the conversation. She urged media outlets to refrain from disseminating unverified and speculative reports.

“I sincerely request everyone not to follow the illusion spread by some media outlets with wrong interests,” she said, emphasizing her commitment to transparency and public trust.

Dr. Shakya shared the clarification to prevent confusion among her well-wishers and the general public.
