Rain with thunder and lightning likely in hilly regions



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that the current weather pattern in Nepal is influenced by local and westerly winds.

At present, skies are partly cloudy over the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear.

This afternoon, the hilly areas, including Koshi Province, are expected to experience partly to generally cloudy skies. The remaining regions will see mainly clear to partly cloudy weather.

There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, with isolated occurrences in other hilly regions across the country.

Additionally, light rain and snowfall are possible at one or two locations in the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, skies will remain partly to generally cloudy over the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki, with mainly clear to partly cloudy conditions elsewhere.

Light rain with thunder and lightning is expected at isolated locations in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki, along with light snowfall in a few high-altitude areas.
