Rabi Lamichhane’s statement recorded, bail hearing deferred



KATHMANDU: Although Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane completed his statement at the Rupandehi District Court today, the detention hearing has been postponed.

According to the court’s information officer, Anantaraj Marasini, the statement was recorded in the bench of Judge Palhad Kumar Yogi, but the hearing for detention could not proceed further.

Lamichhane faces charges of fraud linked to savings in Butwal’s Supreme Cooperative.

A supplementary charge sheet was filed against him in the Rupandehi Court on Sunday, adding to the ongoing case. The case involves 42 individuals, including Lamichhane, Chhabilal Joshi, and GB Rai, with 14 named in the supplementary charge sheet and 28 in the original case.

Lamichhane had traveled to Bhairahawa on Tuesday to provide his statement regarding the allegations. Further developments in the case are expected as the proceedings continue.
