NEPSE up by 52.36 Points; trading volume hits Rs 9.20 billion



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) experienced a surge on Wednesday, with the index climbing by 52.36 points to close at 2,665.45 points.

This 2% increase highlights a bullish trend, driving investor confidence and market activity.

The day saw an impressive trading volume, with 17,692,819 shares exchanging hands, generating a turnover of Rs 9.20 billion.

A total of 322 companies were actively traded, resulting in 90,696 transactions throughout the session.

Among these, 196 companies recorded an increase in share prices, while 37 companies saw declines, and nine remained unchanged. Notably, three companies hit a positive circuit, while none experienced a negative circuit.

All 13 market sectors showed gains, with the Others group leading the way, surging by 4.24% to reach 2,090.74 points. The production and processing sector recorded the smallest gain, inching up by 0.08% to 7,080.19 points.

The commercial banking sector saw an increase of 1.32%, while development banks rose by 2.74%. The hotel and tourism sector gained 2.71%, with hydropower up by 2.12% and the investment group posting a robust rise of 3.82%.

Other sectors, including finance, insurance, microfinance, and trading, also recorded steady gains, reflecting strong investor sentiment across the board.
