KATHMANDU: Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi has arrived in Bhairahawa to argue on behalf of the victims of the Supreme Cooperative fraud case, which involves Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane.

Tripathi reached Bhairahawa on Wednesday to represent the victims in the District Court of Rupandehi.

This move comes after Tripathi previously argued in high-profile cooperative fraud cases, including the embezzlement of savings from the Swarnalakshmi Cooperative in Kalimati, Kathmandu.

Tripathi was physically attacked by RSP cadres on January 15 while he was presenting his arguments in the Swarnalakshmi case. The incident led to the arrest of three individuals, including two RSP cadres, who are currently in police custody.

Despite a delay in his travel due to bad weather, Tripathi confirmed on social media that he would continue to advocate for the victims in Bhairahawa. In his post, Tripathi expressed his commitment to the ongoing pursuit of justice for the victims affected by the fraudulent activities.

Tripathi has previously represented cooperative victims in several high-profile cases, including the Suryadarshan Cooperative of Pokhara and the Swarnalakshmi Cooperative fraud case in Kathmandu. His efforts in these cases have earned him recognition for his continued fight for the victims’ rights.

The hearing for the Supreme Cooperative fraud case, which began on Wednesday, is being held at the Rupandehi District Court by Judge Pralhad Kumar Yogi.

Lamichhane, the main defendant in the case, appeared in court on Tuesday, and proceedings have now moved forward.
