Monsoon weakens, local winds drive weather across Nepal



KATHMANDU: With the monsoon gradually weakening, Nepal’s weather is now being influenced more by local wind patterns, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

Today, one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati Provinces are likely to experience heavy rainfall. The weather will remain generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, while other parts of the Tarai are expected to see partly cloudy skies.

Moderate rainfall is likely in some areas of Koshi and Bagmati, a few places in Madhesh and Gandaki, and at isolated locations across the rest of the country.

Tonight, the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki will remain mostly cloudy, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere. Moderate rainfall is expected in a few areas of Koshi, several parts of the hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki, and at isolated spots in the remaining provinces.
