Torch rally staged outside Indian Embassy against Lipulekh agreement

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU), the student wing of CPN-UML, staged a protest in front of the Indian Embassy on Thursday evening.

The demonstrators carried out a torch rally, opposing the agreement between India and China to open a trade route through Lipulekh, a territory Nepal claims as its own.

According to the student leaders, the agreement undermines Nepal’s sovereignty, and they demanded that the government take a stronger stance to safeguard national interests.
