Police baton-charge UML protest; one injured in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Police on Saturday baton-charged a protest organized by the CPN-UML, leaving one demonstrator injured.

The protest was staged against the arrest of party Chairman KP Sharma Oli. Police resorted to baton-charge after demonstrators attempted to enter the restricted area of Singha Durbar.

According to preliminary information, one protester sustained a head injury during the incident. The injured individual was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Security personnel intervened as protesters tried to breach the main administrative complex, prompting the use of force to disperse the crowd. Further details are awaited.
