Construction of the stands at TU Cricket Ground nears completion

KATHMANDU: Construction work on the parapet and seating at the Tribhuvan University (TU) cricket ground in Kirtipur has reached its final stage.

According to BKOI–KCDC–BG JV representative Prem Paudel, more than 95 percent of the project has been completed, with only final tasks such as cleaning and railing installation remaining.

The stadium has a capacity of 10,000 spectators, divided into two sections. The eastern stand accommodates 2,290 seats, while the western stand holds 7,710.

Meanwhile, preparations are also underway for floodlight installation.

Bishan–Ishwori Joint Venture, awarded the contract worth Rs 274 million, has already delivered poles for six lights, with installation work expected to begin in the coming days.
