Teen drowns while swimming in Narayani River



BHARATPUR: A 15-year-old boy drowned while swimming in the Narayani River in Chitwan on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the incident occurred around 3:30 PM near the Ganesh Temple area of Bharatpur Metropolitan City–16. The victim, Maxon Pun Magar of Bharatpur–15, Suryanagar, had gone swimming with five of his friends in a pool formed at the riverbank.

He went missing while swimming, prompting an immediate search and rescue operation by the Narayangadh Ward Police Office and a disaster management team. Magar was found and rushed to Bharatpur Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival, said District Police spokesperson Rabindra Khanal.
