KATHMANDU: Six major highways across the country have been completely blocked due to floods and landslides triggered by continuous rainfall.
According to the Police Headquarters, the Koshi Highway in Sankhuwasabha, the Mechi Highway in Panchthar, and the Tamor Corridor road section are fully obstructed.
Likewise, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Nawalparasi East, the Shahid Highway in Rolpa, and the Jajarkot-Dolpa-Bheri Corridor road section in Rukum West have also been completely blocked.
Meanwhile, five other road sections are operating under one-way traffic. These include the Tokha–Nuwakot section in Kathmandu, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung Municipality, the Mid-Hill Highway in Galkot (Baglung), the Kaligandaki Corridor in Nawalparasi East, and the Shahid Highway in Parivartan Rural Municipality of Rolpa, as per the Police Headquarters.
