Construction of Animal Hospital building remains incomplete

TANAHU: The construction of the Animal Hospital building in Damauli, Byas Municipality-3, remains unfinished despite the original deadline having passed.

The construction agreement, signed to complete the building by January 2025, has only seen 75 percent of the work completed so far, according to the Veterinary Hospital and Animal Service Expert Center in Tanahun.

Rabishan Adhikari, the center’s chief, stated that despite several deadline extensions, the project remains incomplete due to contractor negligence.

“The deadline was extended after the contractor assured us that the work would be completed within six months,” said Adhikari. The contractor responsible for the project is Eco Builders.

The hospital building, located on the premises of the Veterinary Hospital and Animal Service Expert Center in Damauli, should have been completed a year and a half ago.

The Gandaki Provincial Government had contracted the construction for Rs 49 million, excluding VAT. However, it is estimated that the total cost to complete and operate the necessary infrastructure for the hospital will reach Rs 100 million.
