More rainfall than average predicted for this monsoon



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has projected more than average rainfall coming the monsoon.

The department made an analysis of the weather patterns of recent times and predicted more than average rainfall in most places from June 1 to September 30.

Director at the department, Kamal Ram Joshi, shared that both maximum and minimum temperatures will record a rise in the imminent monsoon.

“The rainfall will occur by 35 to 65 percent, ranging from different provinces this year,” he said, adding that even the maximum temperature will rise, ranging from 35 to 65 percent above the average.

Similarly, the minimum temperature will also witness a rise from 35 to 55 percent above the average temperature.
