Newly appointed governor meets Finance Minister



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel held a meeting today with the newly appointed Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr. Biswo Nath Poudel, at the Ministry of Finance.

During the meeting, Finance Minister Paudel extended congratulations and best wishes to Governor Poudel for a successful tenure.

He expressed confidence that the new governor would take effective and result-oriented initiatives to address the economic and monetary challenges by coordinating between fiscal and monetary policies.

Governor Poudel, in response, emphasized the role of the Finance Ministry in leading the national economy and assured that Nepal Rastra Bank would continue to support fiscal policy implementation through effective monetary policy. He also stressed the importance of enhancing the central bank’s supervisory capacity to ensure the efficiency of the financial sector.

Also present at the meeting were Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Damodar Bhandari, Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyaya, Revenue Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, and other senior officials, who congratulated and offered their best wishes to the new governor.
