DIG Siddhi Bikram Shah recommended for promotion to AIG



KATHMANDU: The Secretariat of the Promotion Committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police, Siddhi Bikram Shah, for promotion to the rank of Additional Inspector General (AIG).

The committee meeting held on Tuesday also recommended 11 Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) from the general police group for promotion to the position of DIG.

Among those recommended for DIG promotion are Sudarshan Prasad Sapkota (working at the Narcotics Control Bureau, Kathmandu), Binod Ghimire (Metropolitan Traffic Police Division), Dipendra Gharti Kshetri (Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau), Deepak Regmi (Gautam Buddha International Airport Security Office, Rupandehi), and Madhav Prasad Shrestha (Lumbini Province Police Training Center, Rupandehi).

Others on the list include Dilip Singh Deuba (Provincial Police Office, Mahendranagar), Deepak Kumar Basnet (Provincial Police Office, Surkhet), Om Bahadur Rana (Anti-Corruption Commission Police Division), Jayaraj Sapkota (Provincial Police Office, Dharan), Sanjeev Sharma Das (Nepal Embassy, New Delhi), and Surendra Bahadur Gurung (Provincial Police Office, Birgunj).

Shah, who has been recommended for promotion to AIG, is currently serving at the Special Bureau of Nepal Police Headquarters in Naxal.

The final decision on the promotions will be made by the Cabinet within a week.
