Widespread rainfall expected today



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has announced the possibility of rainfall in several parts of the country today, Wednesday.

According to the Division, skies will be partly to generally cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at isolated spots elsewhere.

Light rain or snowfall may also occur in some high-hilly and mountainous areas. Likewise, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected over hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and partly cloudy skies elsewhere.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with isolated showers in other regions.

Light snowfall or rain is also possible in high-hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Meteorologists attribute the current weather conditions to the combined influence of westerly and local winds, along with moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
