Nepal secures historic win against Singapore in international friendly

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s national football team created history by defeating Singapore 1-0 in an international friendly match held at the Singapore National Stadium on Friday evening.

The decisive goal came in the 12th minute when Gillespie Jung Karki found the back of the net, securing Nepal’s win in Matt Ross’s first game as national team coach.

This win is particularly significant as Singapore ranks 15 places higher than Nepal in the FIFA rankings.

The friendly match against Singapore served as preparation for Nepal’s upcoming clash against Malaysia in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.

Nepal will face Malaysia on March 25, aiming to carry forward the momentum from this impressive win.
