CHITWAN: The Chitwan National Park (CNP) has installed a new water boring system to ensure easier access to water for wildlife.

The facility, located in Bhimle, is specifically aimed at helping wildlife in dry areas.

With this addition, the total number of water boring facilities within the CNP has reached nine.

According to CNP’s Information Officer, Abinash Thapa Magar, the facilities are distributed across various locations: two at the Gharial Breeding Centre, one in the Hattisar area, two at Bhimle, two at Kasara, one at Old Padampur, one at Dumariya, and one at Sukhibhar.

Managing water resources for wildlife is a priority for CNP, ensuring that animals do not need to venture outside the park in search of water.

The installation of the new facility cost around one million rupees. In addition, efforts are underway to conserve and clean water resources and ponds within the park.

Two artificial ponds have also been constructed as part of these efforts.
