KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has stated that additional facilities will be provided to devotees visiting the Pashupatinath area for Mahashivaratri.

Speaking to the media after reviewing the preparations in the Pashupati area this morning, Minister Pandey stated that efforts are still ongoing to improve facilities for devotees from around the world visiting the Pashupatinath Temple.

As the Chairman of the Fund Management Council, he acknowledged that some work, including the installation of drinking water pipes, is still underway in various parts of the Pashupati area.

While this may cause some inconvenience for Mahashivaratri visitors, he assured that coordination with relevant bodies is in place to expedite completion.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation between government bodies, social organizations, and individuals to ensure the success of Mahashivaratri preparations.

Minister Pandey also visited Bankali, Bhubaneswari, Ghat Kshetra, Ram Mandir, Mrigasthali, Bishwaroop, and other key locations in the Pashupati area to assess the progress of preparations.

Noting that some tasks would take time to finish, Minister Pandey instructed Trust employees to complete the remaining work before Mahashivaratri.

Member Secretary Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, Treasurer Narayan Prasad Subedi, and members of the Trust Board briefed the Minister on the preparations in place.

A 201-member Main Celebration Committee, chaired by Minister Pandey, has been formed for the Mahashivaratri preparations.
