CPN-UML decides to make returning leaders convention representatives

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has decided to appoint leaders who have returned to the party as representatives for the upcoming general convention.

Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali informed that the secretariat meeting held on Thursday made this special decision.

“Under the ‘Homecoming Campaign,’ leaders who have joined from various leftist groups and are now part of the central committee have been specially appointed as representatives,” he said.

Leaders such as Ram Kumari Jhakri and Kisan Shrestha recently returned to the CPN-UML.

The party’s general convention is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from 27–29 Mangsir. KP Oli is expected to seek reelection as party chair, while senior vice-chair Ishwar Pokharel is preparing to challenge him.
