Transport department to share ready license notifications on Facebook

KATHMANADU: The Department of Transport Management has announced that updates regarding vehicle driving licenses will now be shared via its official Facebook page, making the process easier for applicants.

The decision comes after technical issues were detected in the online automated notification system, which previously sent a “notification” to applicants within 72 hours once their license application was approved and printed.

Under the new arrangement, the department will regularly post the names of applicants whose licenses are ready on its Facebook page, Hello Transport Management Department. Applicants whose names appear on the list are requested to bring the original revenue receipt and collect their licenses in person from the department.

The department has also clarified that those renewing licenses or adding new categories must bring their existing license. Officials expect that the new system will allow applicants to access updates more quickly and conveniently.
