Curfew imposed again in Simara following Gen-Z protests

BARA: The Bara District Administration has imposed a curfew for the second consecutive day in Simara, including the area surrounding Simara Airport and Jeetpur, following ongoing protests by Gen-Z youth.

The curfew, effective from 1 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, has been ordered to prevent potential damage to life and property.

The restrictions cover the stretch from Pathlaiya Chowk south to Jeetpur Lalka Bridge along the Birgunj-Pathlaiya highway, extending 500 meters on either side, as well as a 500-meter radius around Simara Airport. During this period, all movement, gatherings, rallies, meetings, and sit-ins are strictly prohibited.

However, vehicles providing essential services, including ambulances, fire trucks, hearses, health workers, media personnel, and tourist vehicles, are permitted. The administration also stated that diplomatic vehicles and passengers traveling on valid flight tickets will be facilitated by security personnel.
