NC Central Working Committee meeting postponed again, rescheduled for Saturday

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) Central Working Committee meeting has been postponed once again.

Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel said the meeting, which was scheduled for today (Thursday), has been shifted to Saturday. The meeting will now take place at 1 PM at the party’s central office.

Earlier, the Congress had postponed the November 16 meeting and rescheduled it for today. The ongoing internal debate, whether to hold a Special General Convention or proceed with the regular General Convention, has been at the center of these repeated delays.

While signatures have already been collected in favor of a Special General Convention, leaders from the establishment faction insist that the regular General Convention should only be held after the upcoming elections.

The meeting, which began on October 14, had completed the round of opinion-sharing among leaders by November 13. Meetings scheduled for November 15 and 17 were later postponed before being rescheduled for November 20.

The ongoing session is expected to take decisions related to the party’s 15th General Convention and matters concerning the upcoming House of Representatives election.
