Home Minister Aryal says no one is above law, not even KP Oli

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said that CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli is not above the law and must abide by it like every other citizen.

Speaking to journalists at Singha Durbar on Monday after meeting with the injured participants of the Gen-Z movement, Minister Aryal said no one has the privilege to remain beyond legal scrutiny.

He clarified that the directive restricting movement outside the Valley was issued by the investigation commission, not the government.
Aryal also said he never accused political parties of possessing weapons looted during the Gen-Z protests, but stated that some parties might have shown interest in collecting them.

Stressing that the country must move forward through non-violence, he urged political parties to help create a peaceful environment for the upcoming elections.

Aryal further claimed that Deepak Khadka was abroad when his interview was published and suggested media personnel verify the matter with Khadka himself.
