Elderly man killed in wild elephant attack in Kanchanpur



KANCHANPUR: A 70-year-old man was killed in a wild elephant attack in Kanchanpur district on Monday, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Shriprasad Acharya of Butawari-3, Belauri Municipality. According to District Police Office spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara, Acharya was cycling from Butawari towards Dhakka Camp when the incident occurred.

“His body was found along the paved road from Belauri to Dhakka Camp, near Banteriya in Belauri-5,” Bohara said.

The body was discovered in the Pushpalal Smriti Community Forest during a search operation. Police have sent the body to the Belauri Primary Health Centre for post-mortem examination.
