Supreme Court to open for limited hours during Tihar break



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court will remain open for a limited time during the Tihar holidays to hear habeas corpus petitions.

According to a notice issued by the Supreme Court administration, the court will operate from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on all days of the festival except on Bhai Tika (October 23) and Saturday.

The notice stated that, in line with Section 26 of the Judicial Administration Act (2016), benches will remain open to register and hear habeas corpus petitions during the holiday period.

Other court proceedings, however, will remain suspended throughout the Tihar festival.
