India issues travel advisory for citizens visiting Nepal after Gen-Z protests

KATHMANDU: The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has issued a travel advisory urging its citizens to exercise caution while visiting Nepal in the aftermath of the Gen-Z protests of September 8 and 9.

The embassy noted that while the situation in Nepal has improved compared to recent weeks, travelers should remain vigilant.

“The situation in Nepal has improved compared to the past few weeks. Road transport and flights are operating regularly. However, Indian nationals traveling to Nepal are advised to exercise caution and follow advisories issued by the Embassy or local authorities,” the statement said.

As part of the advisory, the embassy has also published emergency helpline numbers, an email contact, and other resources for Indian nationals seeking assistance. Citizens have been encouraged to reach out to the embassy if needed during their stay in Nepal.

The advisory comes amid lingering concerns over security and stability following the youth-led Gen-Z protests, which caused extensive damage to infrastructure and disrupted daily life across the country.
