Heavy rainfall likely in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki today



KATHMANDU: With monsoon winds affecting the entire country, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the hilly regions of other provinces.

Additionally, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in many hilly areas across Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy throughout the country, with chances of light to moderate snowfall in some high-hill and mountainous regions.

Tonight, skies will remain mostly cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at many places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few locations in other parts of the country. There is also a chance of very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Department also reports that light to moderate snowfall is possible in some high-hill and mountainous areas.
