Budget discussion removed from House agenda

KATHMANDU: Following the cancellation of the scheduled Q&A session with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the House of Representatives on Friday also removed discussions on the allocated budgets for two ministries from its agenda.

Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire informed lawmakers that the discussions on the budgets for the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens had been withdrawn from the day’s schedule due to the absence of concerned ministers.

“I would like to inform honorable members that the budget discussions related to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens have been removed from today’s list,” said Speaker Ghimire during the House session.

Earlier in the meeting, Nepali Congress lawmaker Ramhari Khatiwada objected to proceeding without the presence of the ministers and urged the House to defer the discussions until both were present.
