KATHMANDU: The Ashok Rai-led Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is holding its Federal Council meeting starting today. Party leader Durga Subedi said that the meeting will take place today and tomorrow in Lalitpur.
This is the first Federal Council meeting since the party’s formation. During the session, Federal Council Chairman Rajendra Prasad Shrestha is expected to present a proposal outlining the party’s policies, principles, and ideological direction.
Similarly, Vice Chairman Randhwaj Kandangwa will present a proposal to amend the party’s statute.
According to Subedi, the meeting will be attended by approximately 413 participants, as defined under Article 26930 of the party’s statute.
These include members of the Central Committee, central body officials, provincial committee officials, members of the national committee, district committee chairpersons, leaders of affiliated people’s organizations, and nominated members of the Federal Council.
