Forex: US dollar, euro, and pound strengthen



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank has published the foreign currency exchange rates for today (Friday), showing a mixed trend in currency values.

Most major foreign currencies, including the US dollar, euro, pound sterling, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar, have appreciated against the Nepali rupee. However, the Australian dollar has declined for the second consecutive day.

According to the central bank, the buying rate for one US dollar today is NPR 138.46, and the selling rate is NPR 139.06. Yesterday, the buying and selling rates were NPR 138.07 and NPR 138.69, respectively.

The euro also saw an increase today. The buying rate stands at NPR 159.00, and the selling rate at NPR 159.69. Yesterday, these rates were NPR 158.37 and NPR 159.42, respectively.

Similarly, the British pound has also strengthened. Today’s buying rate is NPR 186.04, while the selling rate is NPR 186.85. Yesterday, the rates were NPR 185.60 and NPR 186.41.

In contrast, the Australian dollar has declined slightly. The buying rate is NPR 89.60, and the selling rate is NPR 89.99, compared to yesterday’s rates of NPR 89.65 (buying) and NPR 90.04 (selling).

The Kuwaiti dinar continues its upward trend, with today’s buying rate at NPR 451.95 and the selling rate at NPR 453.91. Yesterday, the rates were NPR 450.75 and NPR 452.71.

Similarly, the Bahraini dinar is trading higher today. The buying rate is NPR 367.07, and the selling rate is NPR 368.66. This compares to yesterday’s rates of NPR 366.11 and NPR 367.70.

The Nepal Rastra Bank has noted that these rates are subject to change as needed. Additionally, exchange rates set by commercial banks may vary. The most up-to-date rates can be found on the central bank’s official website.
