Nepal under the influence of westerly and local winds

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently under the combined influence of westerly and local wind systems.

There is also a partial impact from moisture-laden winds blowing in from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

The Division noted that most parts of the country are currently experiencing partly to generally cloudy skies.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning has been observed in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Weather conditions are expected to remain similar throughout the afternoon, with light to moderate showers and lightning likely in several hilly areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Isolated rainfall is also possible in other regions. High hill and mountainous areas could see light snowfall in one or two locations.

Furthermore, there is a chance of windstorms in parts of the Terai region, particularly in Madhes and Koshi provinces.
