KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has announced a nationwide awareness campaign to counter what it calls reactionary activities and to reinforce public support for the federal democratic republic.

As part of this initiative, UML will conduct public awareness programs simultaneously across all local wards on March 24 and continue mobilization efforts in provinces and districts until April 12.

Key events include:
March 31: Motorcycle rallies in Dhangadhi, Surkhet, Butwal, Pokhara, Birgunj, and Damak.

March 31: District-level awareness programs across Nepal.

April 6-12: Large-scale gatherings in Dhangadhi, Surkhet, Butwal, Pokhara, Birgunj, and Damak.

The campaign aims to engage civic society and various stakeholders to defend constitutional achievements such as federalism, inclusion, and social justice.

Addressing a virtual meeting with UML’s provincial and district leaders, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel emphasized the need to counter “organized efforts against Nepal’s constitution and federal democracy.”

He urged party members to use factual information while spreading awareness, highlighting Nepal’s economic and social progress since the end of the Panchayat era.

UML’s 46th Central Secretariat Meeting on March 17 reaffirmed the party’s commitment to protecting constitutional achievements, federalism, inclusivity, and social justice.
