Int’l Women’s Championship: Nepal beat Lebanon and reach final against Myanmar

KATHMANDU: Nepal and Myanmar have secured their places in the final of the International Women’s Football Championship with a game to spare.

Nepal advanced to the final after defeating Lebanon 1-0 on Thursday.

The decisive goal came in the 42nd minute when Sabitra Bhandari’s shot deflected off Lebanese player Farah and found the back of the net. Despite several opportunities, neither team was able to add to the scoreline.

Lebanon had a chance to equalize in injury time, but Zahwa Arabi’s shot hit the crossbar.

Nepal and Myanmar will face each other in the last match of the group stage, followed by a rematch in the final.
