Prakriti Lamsal cremated at Swargadwari Ghat

KATHMANDU: Prakriti Lamsal, the Nepali student who passed away at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, India, was cremated at Swargadwari Ghat.

Her grandfather, Devnath Lamsal, performed the final rites.

Lamsal’s body was brought to Rupandehi on Wednesday and taken to Bhairahawa for a circumambulation before being transported to Swargadwari Ghat for cremation.

Nepali students from Siddharthanagar studying at KIIT joined the funeral procession to pay their respects.

Born on September 20, 2004, in Bhairahawa, Lamsal was found dead in her hostel room at KIIT last Sunday, under circumstances that remain under investigation.
